THREE DAYS

While it seems as if it's been 40 days and 40 nights, in reality the rain has only been here three. But a long, all day, non-stop, hard pouring rain. Your northern snow made it's way here in a melted version. Our town is flooded, and it's wee ones all a bit crazy in the insides.  If not for God's promise.. we may just have drowned. No olive branches, but yes a hint of sun today. I do believe the worst is gone.  After a morning of discussing types of sentences, I'll pose one in the form of a question. How has your weather been?

This ranks right up top, as far as Valentines go. And it's one you will for sure want to pull out year after year.  I pinned it here. 

Recently, I have utilized this pretty sweet website for making coloring pages straight from pictures we have taken. So when I saw this Valentines idea, I knew exactly how to get the same look- without having to be a sketch artist! The project is self explanatory and took all of 5 minutes.  The kids cut the hearts, I cut  the sketches. Again, I'm all pitter patter over this one.

The moments I choose for this weeks 52 project are redundant of my last post. I had a few other shots of the children I could have chosen, 

but this afternoon was so special and I couldn't resist these three side by side. Past weeks can be found here.

Mose-  This afternoon he said this was his favorite playtime ever. That the creek bed is his favorite place. Could we always come here? He is ever thinking ahead and sometimes forgets to completely enjoy the moment. He always has a new favorite. Reminds me a bit of my dad's teases of myself. 

Any 80s song or sappy movie was always my new favorite.

JEB- He is my caretaker and lover. He was in his element this day. Gathering rocks, sticks and leaves, then rubbing hard to start a fire. 

Sometimes I think he takes better care of me, than I him.  His soul is a gift to me. 

Mack- This shot so reminded me of Gandalf.?  I think she gained yet another nickname that day. And we just may have two hobbits and a wizard come Halloween.

THIS PAST TUESDAY

If I could tell twenty-something year old self anything.. It would be it's going to be great. It'll come in His perfect timing and you would not have wanted  this any other time.  There are difficult minutes (days, weeks), but when it's good it's real good. And almost always, it's good.

(We have spent the first half of our year studying from the Nomadic Period to the rise and fall of Egypt.  We've made it to the Mycenaeans' demise, and are moving on to civilized Greece! With a forecast for rain next week, we headed out to explore and read our transitional history chapter. I'm learning this stuff all over again, and loving it this time!)
